How It Works

At the beginning of each month, you’ll receive that month’s photography themes so you can look ahead, plan your ideas, or work at your own pace.

Each week, the current theme will be featured inside the private WPC 52 Photos Facebook group, along with short, easy-to-digest tips, creative prompts, and inspiration to help you approach the theme and get started.

Take your photograph anytime during the week using your phone or camera, then share it with the community whenever you’re ready.  Participate every week, skip a week, or catch up later.

There are no deadlines, and you are not expected to complete all 52 themes. This is meant to keep you inspired, not add more pressure to your life.

We Won’t Stop at Taking the Photo

Each month, I’ll share an editing video connected to that month’s themes. I’ll walk you through how I approach different images, explain the choices I make while editing, and demonstrate creative techniques you can try with your own photographs.

Editing is something I hear women say they struggle with all the time, so it will be an important part of WPC 52 Photos. We’ll look at what happens after you press the shutter, not only what happens in camera.

Image Feedback

Want feedback on an image? You’ll have a dedicated place to submit photographs for constructive critique.  Selected images will be reviewed by me.

Because the number of submissions may be greater than the number we can review, submitting an image does not guarantee that it will be selected.  Submitting images is always optional, but thoughtful feedback can be one of the best ways to grow and begin seeing your own work differently.

Community, Sharing, and Member Spotlights

The private WPC 52 Photos Facebook group will give you a dedicated place to share your work, ask questions, discuss the weekly themes, and connect with other women participating in the project.

Active members may also be featured in occasional member spotlights. These are not weekly winners or competitions. They are a way to celebrate creativity, participation, growth, and the photographers who make this community special.

Members who share their photographs on Instagram using the #wpc52photos hashtag may also have their work reshared through WPC social media.

How This Connects with Theme Thursdays

The WPC 52 Photos themes will connect with our free Theme Thursdays in the larger Women’s Photography Circle community.

Each Thursday, you’ll have another opportunity to share your finished image and see how other women interpreted the same idea.  WPC 52 Photos members receive much more than the public Theme Thursday prompt.

Your membership includes themes in advance, detailed theme guides, creative ideas, monthly editing videos, opportunities for image feedback, a private community, member spotlights, and additional support throughout the year.

New Theme → Create → Edit → Share → Connect → Repeat

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Not at all. WPC 52 Photos is open to women photographers of all skill levels, from complete beginners to more experienced photographers looking for fresh inspiration and community.

No. You can participate with a DSLR, mirrorless camera, compact camera, or your phone. The goal is to keep creating and learning with the gear you already have.

WPC 52 Photos will need a minimum number of 30 participants to run. If we don’t reach that number, the program will be canceled and anyone who registered will receive a full refund.

You’ll still be able to access the previous themes and resources, so you can jump in with the current week or go back to anything you missed.

The weekly WPC 52 Photos theme will tie into our regular Theme Thursdays in the larger Women’s Photography Circle community. That gives members another opportunity to share their images, see different interpretations, and connect with even more photographers.

That’s completely fine. This is meant to inspire you, not become another obligation. Participate every week, skip weeks when life gets busy, or come back to a theme later.

No. The themes are designed to encourage creativity across many kinds of photography, including nature, people, everyday life, light, composition, creative techniques, and more.

It’s a little different from a traditional course. There isn’t one rigid curriculum you have to complete in order. Think of it as a year-long creative photography experience that combines weekly challenges, education, editing help, feedback, and community.

About Your Instructor

Beth Mancuso has been a professional photographer for more than 20 years. She began her career photographing portraits and families, running her own portrait business for more than a decade before shifting her focus toward nature, landscape, and creative photography.

In 2019, Beth founded Into the Wild We Go Workshops, creating photography experiences designed specifically for women. She later founded Women’s Photography Circle, which has grown into a large community of women photographers learning, creating, and supporting one another.

Over the years, Beth’s work has been recognized by National Geographic, Sony Alpha Female of the Year (2025), and Outdoor Photographer, and she has taught photographers both online and in the field.

But Beth’s greatest strength as an instructor is her ability to make photography feel understandable and attainable. She knows how easy it is to get overwhelmed by settings, editing, gear, or comparing your work to everyone else’s.

Her teaching focuses on helping you understand why something works, not just telling you which button to press.  She brings nearly two decades of experience in photographing, editing, teaching, and reviewing images to WPC 52 Photos.

Throughout the year, Beth will help you strengthen your eye, become more confident with editing, experiment creatively, and learn how to make stronger photographs with whatever camera you have.

You don’t need expensive gear or years of experience. You just need a willingness to keep creating.
